Will AT&T Purchase of T-mobile Mean Better Prices For Us?
As may of you guys already know, on March 20, 2011, AT&T announced that it reached an agreement to purchase T-Mobile USA. According to an official press release these two wireless giants entered into a definitive agreement that has been approved by the Boards of Directors of both companies.
Essentially, what the purchase of T-Mobile does for AT&T is provide “an optimal combination of network assets to add capacity sooner than any alternative, and it provides an opportunity to improve network quality in the near term for both companies’ customers. In addition, it provides a fast, efficient and certain solution to the impending exhaustion of wireless spectrum in some markets, which limits both companies’ ability to meet the ongoing explosive demand for mobile broadband.” ( mobilizeeverything.com)
It sounds like this is a great deal for AT&T as it continues to expand operations in an attempt to corner the market. I do not blame them. If I was them, I would be trying to become a dominant force in the cell phone industry also. However, I must wonder, is this such a great thing for us, the consumers?
Will Our Cell Phone Prices Go Up?
Think about this for a moment. With so many cellular phone companies out there, competition to win over subscribers has been fierce. This high level of competition has forced many wireless carriers to keep introducing new cellular phones on a regular basis.
Not only that, in addition to having to introduce newer and better cell phone devices on a regular basis, wireless cellular companies have had to offer prospective customers incentives to win over their business. These incentives normally translate into huge savings on cell phone devices to people whenever they get a new phone. For example if you go to CellularDeals.us you will find that they have listed the Motorola CLIQ With MOTOBLUR Titanium for free.

Motorola Cliq With Motoblur Titanium
There reason that you can get this Free Motorola CLIQ With MOTOBLUR Titanium is that competition is fierce with so many wireless carriers in the marketplace. However, by buying T-Mobile what AT&T is doing is eliminating the competition. So now with less companies to beat for our business, I am afraid that the days when we could get free cellular phones are almost gone!

Since there is a certain level of uncertainty as to whether or not AT&T will be inclined to give prospective customers a good deal, I suggest that if you were planning on getting a new cell phone that you may do so now.
Again, I do not know if AT&T will stop giving great deals or not, but just do the math. It makes sense that if they have just about eliminated the competition, chances are that this wireless phone giant will have no need to give huge cell phone discounts to their new subscribers. So I strongly advice you to run to CellularDeals.us now and
